CineDante will return in 2027!

CineDante presents Italian cinema in Christchurch as part of our cultural and educational programme. These screenings are organised specifically for educational use, providing members with an opportunity to engage with Italian language, culture, history, and society through film in an informal learning environment. Each film is selected for its artistic merit as well as its value in supporting cultural understanding and discussion.

These events are designed to complement Italian language learning and foster deeper cultural awareness within a community setting.

Please note that viewings are exclusive to members of the Dante Society. If you're not yet a member, you can easily join by paying the annual subscription on the night. Excitingly, all 2026 Dante Language Students are automatically considered financial members of the Dante Alighieri Society.

Join us at Kohinga: St. Albans Community Centre, located at 1049 Colombo Street. For your convenience, there's a car park behind the centre on Caledonian Road.

Come along to the Aperitivo Dante and enjoy a glass of wine and a chat in Italian (or English) before the film. Aperitivo Dante begins at 7pm with the film beginning at 7.30pm.

There’s no charge for attending CineDante, but we kindly ask for a gold coin koha to help support the evening.
