Presentation: Travel Diary - Abruzzo e Le Marche

This year, Maria took her students on a trip to the Abruzzo and Marche regions, spending time in the beautiful cities of L'Aquila, Pesaro, Urbino and more. At this month’s presentation, they will be sharing their experiences and stories while showing some of their best images on PowerPoint.
Join us on Wednesday 17 September at 7:30pm. Feel free to come a little earlier or stay afterwards for a friendly chat.

Italian Film Festival
4-24 September
This is the 10th anniversary of the Italian Film Festival and there are more movie selections than ever. You can now buy tickets from Lumière Cinemas.
On Saturday 20 September, you can enjoy a glass of Campari before the movie An Ode to Naples. Tickets $25. 12:00pm arrival for 12:30pm screening.
Spring Walk at Travis Wetland!
Stroll through the beautiful Travis Wetland, spot native birds, and enjoy the fresh air… all while practising your Italian with friendly people! No pressure, just laughs, chats, and a chance to connect with nature and language.
See you on Sunday, 5 October for our usual ‘Passeggiata di Primavera’. We will meet at 10.30am at the main entrance (by the information kiosk) on Beach Road, off Frost Road. Car park available. The walk is a 3.4 Km loop track - 1hour return. For those who would like to conclude the outing with a cup of coffee, we'll head to the Naked Baker Café, located on 142 Beach Rd.

Book Review Competition
To celebrate the 25th Week of the Italian Language in the World, Società Dante Alighieri Christchurch and Christchurch City Libraries are running a Book Review Competition open to all levels of Italian speakers and learners. Browse the Italian Collection and share your reflections in either Italian or English. Entries must be submitted by 11:59pm on Sunday, 19 October 2025.
