An afternoon dedicated to Italy. To share our culture, story and language with regards to our heritage, in the light of migration to NZ and Christchurch in particular. We will listen to a book presentation about NZ soldiers in Italy during the Second World War followed by workshops and talks on various topics: Maori/Italian connections, Latin and Italian language, learn and sing an Italian song, and more as you can read in the detailed plan below.

3.15 pm - Quiz on Italian Migration/Settlement in NZ
The winner will receive a voucher for a semester at the Dante Language School in Christchurch.
Every participant has the chance to listen to the book presentation, then choose two workshops/talks among the six offered.
During the 15-minute break, people will have the chance to participate to a quiz on Italian Heritage in NZ and win a semester of Italian language classes with Dante Christchurch School, valued at $255.

The Italian Embassy Wellington is participating in the 15th edition of Giornata del Contemporaneo – Italian Contemporary Art, the annual event to promote contemporary art.
In this edition, 24 Italian Museums and more than a thousand institutions in Italy and abroad are bringing to the public a comprehensive programme of events, exhibitions, installations, presentations and conferences.
To celebrate Giornata del Contemporaneo in New Zealand, the Embassy of Italy Wellington presents the installation Hybrid Encounters by artist Chiara Corbelletto, a project also part of SCAPE Public Art Season 2019.
The Hybrid Encounters installation takes place inside Cunningham House, the glasshouse and heritage building on the Botanical Gardens of the city of Christchurch.
