This year’s Cine Dante season started a little later than usual, but thank you so much to everyone who joined us for the screening of the hilarious comedy Un mondo a parte. It was lovely to see so many familiar and new faces enjoying the evening together. Our Book Club also returns this month, with all our cultural events now back in full swing.
Cine Dante will continue in June and July, and our Book Club in August and November. We look forward to seeing you again at these events. Please read on for more information.
Festa della Repubblica

It's not too late to get your tickets, but time is running out! Come and celebrate with Italian food, prosecco, and good company. Tickets are available via Humanitix and on our website.

Please note that there will be no Caffè e Chiacchiere in June because of the Festa della Repubblica special event running on the first Sunday of the month.
CineDante
Wednesday 17 June, 7.30pm – St. Albans Community Centre
Film Title: Maria Montessori by Lea Todorov.
2023 Drama – 110min – Rated M, mature theme.
Synopsis: Set in 1900, this film explores the personal and professional struggles of the visionary Italian educator.
Come along to the Aperitivo Dante and enjoy a glass of wine and a chat in Italian or English before the film.
Aperitivo Dante begins at 7pm. There is no charge for CineDante but a gold koha is requested for the evening.
This viewing is reserved to financial members of Dante Society. Annual subscriptions can be paid on the night.

2026 2nd Semester Enrolments
Exciting news: enrolments for the 2nd Semester are now open for all of our Italian classes, both in-person and online classes, except for the evening in-person Absolute Beginners class. You can find all the course dates on our website and enrol there.
Italian for Spanish speakers
